Cha Workshop
This workshop will introduce you to a few common cha-cha figures.
The names applied to these moves are those used in international cha cha. Different names are sometimes used in American cha cha.
1. It's all about the legs... (except for cowboys and rednecks)
2. Each figure starts on count 1, but officially the first step of the figure starts on count 2 of the music.
3. International cha is not a slot dance. The middle part of the "basic" moves sideways.
4. Putting it all together in a "basic".
5. Moving sideways in the "basic" leads naturally into New Yorkers, Shoulder-to-Shoulders, Fenceline, Traveling Doors, Circle-away-together, ...
- introduce each of those moves -
6. To change walls we can use Crossbody, Whip, or Chase with Underarm Turn

Note the difference in initial steps American vs Int'l.,
Note "progressive" in American is the same as our LCV "basic"
Note "New Yorker" in Int'l. is called "cross-over break" in American Cha
